Virginia Found Goods & White Barn Vintage

What inspired you to start your vintage shop/boutique?

The opportunity to sell so I can find more!

How long have you been in business, and how has your shop evolved over time?

8 years

What types of vintage items do you carry?

We carry everything you can think of but staying true to vintage is important to me.

How do you source your vintage pieces? Do you have a favorite story behind a special find?

I will go anywhere I find a lead for authentic vintage. I am from the great state of New Jersey. I often go back home to hunt. I also love to bring it back from France. I was fortunate to navigate shipping a container back. Now I am hooked.

Are there any rare or unique items currently in your collection?

Yes, I found a 100 year old Swan neck collar in its original black box. The box was marked Paris. The inside was bright pink and in very good condition. Whoever owned it back in the day must have been very fancy.

Do you offer any special services, such as styling assistance or custom restorations?

We are always happy to help with locating hard to find items.

Can shoppers purchase items online, or is everything sold in-store?

Everything is sold in store.

Do you host events, workshops, or pop-ups?

We host all three! We have Sweet Violet’s Vintage Market twice a year. We have big event tents that go up and house our outdoor vendors. We often host workshops from wreath making to styling shelves.

Any fun or memorable experiences with customers you’d like to share?

One story that comes to mind is when we first opened our sister store White Barn Vintage, which is located right across the street from Virginia Found Goods. WBV is only open one weekend per month. We were fortunate to hit the ground running our opening day. So many ladies complimented us and called WBV “their happy place”. It turns out, one lady loved it so much, for her Christmas present that year, her husband gifted her 12 visits, one each month to WBV. ♥️
