Weathered Pony Antiques
What inspired you to start your vintage shop/boutique?
I enjoy learning the story, history and purpose of each piece and sharing it with others. My shop is located in the towns former lumberyard, the bays that once held lumber now host dealers selling a variety of items, something for everyone.
How long have you been in business, and how has your shop evolved over time?
A farmer purchased the towns lumberyard 30 plus years ago, he wanted something for his wife to do. They turned it into an Antique Mall that flourished. I started selling Antiques in 2012 at shows, added booths in Malls a few years later. Due to health reasons, the farmers wife put the lumberyard up for sale in 2022, I purchased it to ensure it would stay a Antique Mall and not a storage barn. Since owning the shop, I have cleaned and organized booths and the rough room, new dealers have filled vacant booths with fresh vintage/antique finds.
What types of vintage items do you carry?
Furniture, chairs, glass ware, primitives, repurposed items, locally made lightning, records, Christmas, scales, ironstone, pictures and frames, linens, some clothing, crocks, some new decor and florals to name a few.
How do you source your vintage pieces? Do you have a favorite story behind a special find?
Auctions, estate sales, flea markets, garage sales and other dealers.
Are there any rare or unique items currently in your collection?
One of the dealers makes lighting fixtures from barn trolleys, ladders and single trees to name a few. Perfect for over a kitchen counter, pool table, man caves, log cabin, or Barndominium.
Do you offer any special services, such as styling assistance or custom restorations?
Not at this time
Can shoppers purchase items online, or is everything sold in-store?
Currently sold in store. Hope to add online.
Do you host events, workshops, or pop-ups?
Not at this time.
Any fun or memorable experiences with customers you’d like to share?
It's a joy to see first time shoppers enter the shop as they look up at all the original wood framing and can not believe how large the shop is. Many who fear heights will not venture upstairs or to the third floor loft filled with chairs.
